24 Nov 2014 (Mon) Raining afternoon, heavy rain and howling wind and i popped over The Quarters.
Could this be the next Bee Cheng Hiang? Time will tell!
This refreshing drink is perfect for you if you like a kick of sour taste from the Lemon.
Ingredients: Dill, Mint, Lemon, Love
I went to Google what is Dill, it is an annual herb in the celery family. Why annual? An annual plant is one that completes its life cycle within one year and dies.
Dill, mint, lemon i know, Love? DeMing shared with me an element of love is needed to make the Quarterade.
So who is DeMing? Click on the photo below.
DeMing shared with me that he has always been in the financial industry. So why The Quarters?
I do love my food and The Quarters is my interpretation on it. Though not trained in a culinary school, my passion for flavour profiles and gastronomic experiences spurred me onto this business idea. Having been intrigued with enigmatic Asian ingredients such as durian and buah keluak, my own experiments have uncovered very palatable and exciting way of expressing flavour profiles not commonly tried in a refreshing and exciting way. #INSPIRATION
All the appetiser, drinks, mains and desserts were created to complement with each other; ensuring the customer enjoys an amazing culinary experience.
For dessert, we have pioneered the Duriancanboleh (Durian Creme Brulee) and it is my best dish as it has the right balance of flavour, texture and leaves one yearning for more. #BEST
The Quarters created the salted egg fries where salted eggs were used to create the mayonnaise and eyoli. Indeed highlighting the multi-cultural diversity since the founding of Singapore till today where Singaporeans have influences from the different ethnic quarters of Singapore.
Chatted with Robert, he was sharing on his filming passion and stories. He gave up his web development (those coding kind) career to pursue filming. I told Robert if he does not smile, he will be safe filming even in the most dangerous situations. He was telling me how he carried supplies and went filming in the mountains. Mm.. I forgot what mountain..
Robert and i were searching the place as if we were blind. We spend like fifteen minutes looking for it. I can tell that Robert is such a patient guy, i was already going to give up after encircling the icon village. Totally enjoy the filming interview with Robert and i do not need to worry on direction after i told him my blog will only have three key points (inspiration, best dish and note).
Here’s a direction guide..
After Tanjong Pagar Mrt exit A, turn left and walk 2 minutes, you will see Icon Village (the building name) from the zebra crossing. When you walk in, turn left to the new extension area.
Walk straight and turn Right.
Turn Left when you see this decal wall.
Deming asked me so Rina why do you blog? I was glad to see his email reply hours later agreeing with me that it is indeed important to work on one’s passion to feel alive!
The Quarters is about celebrating Singapore’s cuisine from a modern perspective.
I would like to thank Fabian the General Manager of Peatix Singapore for introducing me to this wonderful place. Check out his ArchiWalks! And not forgetting Nicholas! (; Got to know Nicholas “N” years ago when i went to a networking with good friend Jerry when he first started out.
