Prior to meeting her, i must confess i was at home having severe cramps and took mc. Away from work and this is a much needed Gelato to cheer myself on!

Open-hearted Sharing by Ms Claudia #INSPIRATION

Ms Claudia: ” About 4 years ago, i chanced upon a gelato making course in Singapore and took it up purely because i wanted to learn something new. A year later, i was very lucky to be given the chance to take this further and went to Italy to learn from the real Italian Gelato masters in Parma and Reggio Emilia.

Previously i had 2 Gelato cafes and both of them are located in shopping malls. The rental in shopping malls had proven to be too much to handle. I spent most of the time worrying about my finances and trying to make ends meet. Working 7 days a week, i was tied up with operations, and had no time to experiment with food. That wasn’t how i wanted my “dream cafe” to be. After ending operations in December last year, i took 4 months off work and really think about what is the next step in life for me. I went back to ponder deep about why i chose to leave my family business and wanted to start a Gelato shop years ago.

I was lucky (again), to have met good partners who inspires me enough to take the plunge to start a cafe yet again. Now, The Hideout has became a little playground for my partners and myself. We spend more time trying out new recipes, make a lot of Gelato flavours and whipping up new dishes, without the limitations of franchisers.

It is also a lot more fun and relaxing for me, re-igniting the passion i had for good food and desserts. I think this positive energy rubs off onto our staffs. They are very “well-fed” with our constant cooking and ice cream experiments, and in turn it makes them very happy at work, providing better service to customers. “

Wow i am touched by Ms Claudia’s words..

#BEST

Ms Claudia: ” I’m sure every proud owner will say EVERYTHING! haha.. but if there can only be one item, i say try our waffle with ice cream. Topped it up with our homemade butterscotch or salted caramel fudge. We take pride in preparing the waffle mix from scratch and it’s made fresh everyday. “
